Our Beginnings...

In 2008 a group of artists in Marmora and Lake, Christine Dominico,
Eileen Tait, Franziska Windover, Gail Taylo and Jane McCoy collaborated
and set in motion their vision. Each recognized that Marmora and Lake
and the surrounding area had a significant variety of artistic talent. Their
vision included the formation of a membership of local artists to provide residents and neighbouring communities the opportunity to embrace and
learn about artists' work.

The first board of directors was extablished in early 2009 and consisted of
the founding members. Within months, with the assistance of local supporting artists, the mission developed to bring the arts to the community.

AIM was incorporated in March 2009 and on April 2009 with funding from
the Community Futures Development Corporation, the AIM Gallery & Gift Shop was opened. The opening membership consisted of approximately 45 local artists with 30 of them showcased in the store.

In 2010 AIM finalized the constitution and in June 2010 the first elected Executive Board and Officers were officially established for a 2 year term and the official AIM Website was created.
